Baguazhang is an internal Chinese martial art, based on the philosophy of Taoism.

Bagua symbolizes the fluid and dynamic nature of the universe, where change is the only constant.

What is Bagua Zhang?

Baguazhang is an internal Chinese martial art, based on the philosophy of Taoism.


Bagua are the eight trigrams. These trigrams are a representation of the eight basic combinations, in the form of trigrams, of the 2 opposite and yet complementary energies yin and yang from which the whole universe is manifested.


In simpler terms, Bagua symbolizes the fluid and dynamic nature of the universe, where change is the only constant.

From the perspective of the martial art training, one learns how to twist and turn the whole body, cultivating flexibility, mobility, and strength, changing directions at a whim abandoning and regaining balance, being hard or soft depending on the circumstances, becoming like the wind.


As practice deepens one’s understanding and increases one’s skills.



These qualities are integrated on an emotional and mental level as well.

What is it good for?

The fact that Baguazhang is an internal martial art, means that emphasis is given in relaxation, proper posture, discovering and utilizing the center (Dan Ti’an), correct breathing and connecting the whole body.
